In
Quechua KUSKALLA means “together,
with strength” and only by being united will
we be able to reach our goals. Our outreach objective is to
enable non-Spanish speakers to support many different Peruvian
institutions so that those institutions can work more effectively
for those in need.
In order to reach these goals, we need
good people who are willing to participate in the Volunteer
Program “Ayudemos Juntos” (Let’s Help Together)
and enrich their experience of life through their internship.
During the internship, volunteers will have the opportunity
to take free Standard Spanish classes and advanced elective
courses. They will also receive letters certifying their work
in the different institutions. Those documents will be translated
for their convenience.
Kuskalla Center works to support different
institutions that provide social services. For this reason,
we offer you the opportunity to volunteer with these institutions.
Depending upon your capacity and interest, you can have an
extraordinary life experience.
Most of our projects are oriented to supporting centers dedicated
to work with children, for example hospitals that take care
of children with conditions such as cancer, HIV, or serious
burns.
Another of our projects is to provide educational support
to children who live in poor areas around the fringes of the
city or have special needs such as children afflicted with
Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, etc. Our social program
for adults aims to develop mini-projects that will help them
deal with the economic crisis in our country.
We work with very important and special
centers in the fight against AIDS, where the humaine treatment
of the patients is just as important as the services provided.
Its objectives have always been to help the HIV-positives
especially during emotional crisis to continue striving to
live as fully as possible. These institutions stands by them
to help them cope with the disease with courage and dignity.
We need responsible people who make a
commitment to work as volunteers (doctors, nurses, child and
adult psychologists, therapists in all fields, specialists
in early education, elementary school teachers, teachers of
music, singing, etc.
Volunteers can help people in need in
any area in which they are qualified. If you do not have specialized
training, we can discuss what kind of work you could perform
with us.
NOTE: There will be
no charge for instruction, including standard or elective
Spanish courses, for students who plan to work as volunteers
in the programs we support.
